Day 2
Half-Day Doi Suthep And Temple Tour
This morning you’ll visit the most sacred temple in the
North of Thailand, Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, home to
a holy relic of the Lord Buddha. Tucked away in the
mountains at an elevation of 1,056 meters, the temple is
reached by the mythical Naga (serpent) Staircase. The
temple offers exhilarating views of Chiang Mai City and its
surrounding countryside. Driving back down to the city
centre, we’ll visit some of the other impressive temples of
Chiang Mai. Wat Suan Dok dates to the 14th century,
when the Thai monarchy took walks in its gardens. Today
it houses several white Chedis (stupas) containing the
ashes of Chiang Mai’s former royal family, and features one
of Thailand’s most famous monastic schools. We will also
visit Wat Jedyod, known as, The Temple of Seven
Spires. (B)

statue of
Buddha weighing some 4,500 kilograms....
Wat Chetuporn (commonly known as Wat Pho),
houses the largest group of Buddha statues in
Thailand (including the famed 46-meter long Reclining
Buddha). Wat Pho, Thailand’s first “university”, is
regarded as the first centre of learning, educating the
public on subjects from literature to astronomy by way
its myriad inscriptions, murals and statues. This temple
is also the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. We will
end the tour with a visit to Wat Benchamaborpit (also
known as the Marble Temple) a stunning marriage
